Mool Sustainability Research and Training Center (1) invites internship applications under its Boujwoatt (2) for Sustainability program from youth in Ladakh, Jammu, and Kashmir for the year 2017-2018. The program will commence in the second half of October, 2017. The program includes opportunities to work with experts, attend workshops and training programs including at other institutions working on sustainable alternatives including for education and development.
Mool aims to inspire people especially youth to create and build local resource-based, environment-friendly, and independent livelihoods. Mool seeks to explore sustainable ways of living and enable individuals, families and communities to lead participatory socio-economic transformation for a just, equal, and healthy society.
Through Boujwoatt, Mool seeks to facilitate a space where young people can explore their own ideas and develop their capacity to think and work independently. The internships are for youth, who are seeking alternative means of learning and sharing and are unable to find support for their ideas. The program is geared towards adoption and promotion of sustainable lifestyles that are based on integration of personal quests, local needs, indigenous resources and new knowledge. The themes for this session include, but are not limited to:
 Architecture
 Crafts and skills
 Documentation and office management
 Education and re-creation
 Farming and food
 Zero waste engineering: reduce-reuse-recycle

 A one page motivation statement.
 A copy of your bio-data/ curriculum vitae.
 A thousand word proposal stating the area you want to explore, the goals and outcomes of your undertaking and a detailed plan of action with a timeline. Please also list any potential challenges or risks you may face and the steps you will take to mitigate them.
Applications shall be reviewed and short listed candidates informed via email or phone by October 1, 2017. The short listed candidates will have to attend a three-day orientation program from October 14-16, 2017, for further deliberations on proposals and expectations from the program. Subsequently, a list of selected candidates suited to make the best use of the internship opportunity shall be developed and the candidates informed by October 21.
